Autism Family Support Services - Gateway Therapies


Dr Nicole Grant is Gateway Therapies’ autism specialist. After many years working with children on the autism spectrum and being a parent herself, Nicole became interested in helping parents to better navigate the tricky process of finding the right supports for their family. Nicole has recently completed a doctorate under the supervision of Professor Sylvia Rodger, OAM. Her doctoral studies focused on helping parents to make intervention decisions based on their child and family’s individual¬†needs. As part of her studies, Nicole developed the Autism Decision Aid, a website that helps parents to better understand autism and the many different intervention options that are on offer here in Australia.


Nicole is available for individual consultations, and is able to assist with the following:

  • Emotional regulation and anger management
  • Social skills and interpersonal communication
  • Managing difficult behaviours
  • Fine motor skills, including hand writing and writing refusal
  • Self care skills including dressing, feeding and toileting
  • Sleep issues
  • School readiness
  • Transitions and schedules

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science (Psychology), Master of Occupational Therapy Studies, Doctor of Philosophy.
